I read in a medical journal today that the compression used to do a mammogram actually causes breast cancer. Any tiny cysts that you may have will burst due to the compression and then the cancer will mulitply. Think about how many women got breast cancer after they had their first mammogram……..
I take ic-tri sprintec and i’m about to give it up
I know it was from my birth control because my gynocologist told me it had something to do with it.
23/F. I have been having discomfort in my right lower abdomen for months now. It is a dull aching pain that sometimes extends to the thigh of my right leg. Occasionaly it will turn to a more moderate pain lasting for only a few seconds. I have also found myself urinating more frequently & on some days feeling a little nauseous. I am a virgin, still have regular periods, have had no vaginal bleeding other then the times when I am mestrating, and was on birth control for a few months about a year ago due to having fibrocystic breast disease. I am concerned that this may be a cyst or worst yet maybe even ovarian cancer. Any information you could give or personal experiences would be great. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO GO TO A DOCTOR – I AM GOING!
6 months ago I had fine needle aspiration for cyst and microcalifications. I was told all were removed and benign. I recently had 6 month mammogram and ultrasound and was told there was no way all of the califications were removed and the cluster looks exactly like it did 6 months ago. Is this normal or something to worry about. I go for a excisional biospy next week.
This evening, as I was changing to go to bed, I noticed a painful lump in my breast. It appears to be fluid inside of it. From what I have read online, it sounds like it might be a cyst, but I am not entirely sure. It is around the areola and rather painful. If it helps, I just turned 25 years old and my period is due to start in the middle of next week. I plan on visiting a doctor, but my doctor is not in tomorrow and my insurance won’t cover something that they don’t see as being an emergency for me to go elsewhere (it is graduate student insurance, I am supposed to visit student health first, but they aren’t in until Monday). I am just trying to find out more info to hopefully make myself realize it is either a cyst or it isn’t. If it isn’t, what else it might be?
1 week ago i stopped breastfeeding, i am engorged, but i think that the lump has nothing to do with that. it is maybe half the size of a golf ball, and has 2 pea sized lumps within it. it is located between my right breast and armpit, closer to the armpit. it is very painful, no redness or leaking. doctor ordered a mamogram for 11 days from now, but im worried and would like any insights… possibly a cyst, or maybe cancer?
please someone help me as this is driving me insane! me and my partner have been trying for another baby for the last 12 months with no result, 3 months ago i was rushden to hospital and diagnosed with a ruptured ovarian cyst. had a laprosocopy etc, after 3 weeks i was fine. my last period was on 24th oct 07 and im always 28 days regular, although my last one was very light. im late my breasts are VERY tender, ive been very sick as i have severe heartburn, my breasts are bigger, etc i have done about 50 pregnancy tests ranging from really dear ones to cheap ones to the early result ones all are negative. went to the docs as all my symptoms on the net could be another cyst but would have to be large to cause problems. Im not sure one could grow in the 3 months i left hospital and i was ultrasound scanned before i left hospital. Ive been OK up til today, didnt feel to bad. last nite and all day im peeing every 10 mins. now have a strong pulling pain all in left side. can any one help?
forgot to add, urine test clear for any infections this morning.
I am 14 and i have recently developed a breast cyst. I dont think that anything is wrong. It doesnt seem like it. I think i may go to my doctor and check it out. Anybody else have this?
I have been diagnosed with PCOS- A hormanal issue that causes women often times not to ovulate and have ovarian cysts along w/ a host of other issues. Anyway I was on the BCP and stopped them 2 months ago—I haven’t had my period and my breasts look swollen and I ca see the veins more prominently in the areola—–I know this is silly but could I be pregnant?
