My mum had cysts back in 1998. And they were cured by Oil of Evening Prim Rose; and in 2006 a shadow showed up on a mammogram – however all was fine. This time (2008) she had a mammogram and the Doctor described her left breast as “nodularity”.

She cannot feel the lump; and she has a small lump on her nipple – it is the same colour as the nipple. Also; since the day she got the phone call has had a burning sensation in the breast.

And finally; is a mammogram every 2 years going to catch breast cancer on in time? My mum is 47.

my best friend came over tonight and had an exam today and she is being sent for a mammogram and ultrasound. she has a lump over her left nipple,its round,hard and 4 cmm. she said its been there a year and was afraid to go to doc. she is 36. i am hoping its a cyst. do you think it is ? she is not big chested and she said when laying down it is visible, hard, and makes her aerola indent some.

Just had a mammogram done and now I need to have a cyst aspirated. I did some research on the web and found that most cysts will either go away by themselves, not to mention that they are harmless. Do you think it’s necessary to aspirate it?

41 years old, first mammogram, no history of breast cancer in family although several women have had benign cysts. Do have some risk factors like being overweight (which I’m currently losing having recently lost over 60lbs. I’ve had 4 kids. Anyway, freaked out by the request for more pictures even though it’s probably routine? Right? Could be?

I’ve been planning on getting my breasts augmented. I even went as far as paying the Doctor and scheduling my surgery, however my surgeon being a great surgeon that he is recommended I get a mammogram, or better yet a sonogram, since I am only 32 y.o. I got a sonogram done and it revealed 4 small cysts. Afterwards I also had a mammogram done per my general surgeons recommendation. I haven’t gotten the results on that yet, but if I’m cleared and Doctor still says I have Fybrocystic disease, can I still go through with my surgery and have impants put in? I really want them badly, especially now as summer approaches. Any advice? Is it safe?

Anxiety and Stress

Had a mammogram, followed by an ultrasound today. The radiologist said I have a cyst about two inches in diameter. He said if it bothers me I could have it drained. Yes, it does bother me. It’s super sensitive. Should I have it drained? Are you put under some kind of anesthesia or is it no big deal? I’m just scared because I don’t know what to expect. If you’ve been through this sort of procedure, I would surely appreciate any information that you could pass on….

Angina Information

I am going to get a mammogram done soon. After that what do they do? I am only 21 and have had this since I was about 14. Yes..I said 14. Until a while ago I thought it was normal so I didn’t have anyone pursue it. About 70% of my both my breasts are cysts. SO….what do you think they will do after the mammogram? Since you can no longer feel any individual cysts do you think they will have to do a biopsy or does it just depend? Anyone been here? OR know a good website where I can go for good reliable info? Any info is very much apreaciated…seriously.

my mom recently did a mammogram. this is the result. the left breast is ok. ” in the upper outer aspect of the right breast, note is made of an approximately 5 to 6 mm rounded nodular density. This appears relatively benign and most likely represents a small cyst or intramammary lymph node” PLZ SOMEONE HELP ME SHED SOME LIGHT.
o yea she is scheduled for a sonograph in 10 days. the doc said that will clear things up .

hi i have had a pain in left breast for about a month now i went to docs and they said they found a cyst/lump the pain is burning a bit and goes down my left arm with tingles sometimes in fingers she is sending me for a mammogram i have never had one and i am 32 i am so worried i have cancer as all my family have had bc can any one give some encourging advice please

Help with Anxiety

I’m 21 and in February, my doctor found a breast tumor in my left breast. A week later I received an ultrasound and two mammograms. I was able to see the breast lump on the ultrasound and the mammogram (it was determined that it was not a cyst). The tech informed me that my lump is approximately the size of a quarter (eventhough It feels a lot larger). After looking at the images, the radiologist insisted that it was likely a fibroadenoma. Well, I went back for my four month ultrasound check up last week, and now the radiologists insists I come back immediately for a biopsy. I tried to make an appointment for a week later (since I’m assuming its benign), but they insisted that I come sooner. What could my ultrasound have shown this time that would prompt the doctor to insists on a biopsy asap?
